Invisible Primer instructions
It is important that the product, the room and the floor are at a temperature between 59°F and 77°F and that air humidity is approx. 50 %. Wood humidity must not exceed 12%. Make sure that the room is well-ventilated for optimal evaporation and drying time. The wood must be newly-sanded, with grit 100-150 for the final sanding. Vacuum thoroughly.
Always remember to test on a less visible spot to check the compatibility of the surface with the product.
1. Wash the floor with WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner and leave the floor to dry for at least 8 hours before application of the primer.
2. Thoroughly shake the container of Invisible Oil Primer, both before and during use. Containers with different batch numbers should be mixed to avoid color mismatch. Apply the primer using a short-bristled paint roller in an even coat. Work in small areas of no more than 215 sq.ft. at a time.
3. Leave the primer to soak in for up to 5 minutes.
4. Using a buffing machine with a maroon pad polish the primer into the wood until the floor appears saturated. Regularly change the maroon buffing pad to prevent the primer from lumping.
5. Remove excess oil care with dry, lint-free cotton cloths or pads attached to the polishing machine until the surface no longer appears wet.
6. Leave the floor to dry for 3-4 hours at 68°F. Drying time will vary by temperature, humidity and application quantity. Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity can extend drying time
7. When dry, sand the dry surface with a maroon pad and vacuum thoroughly.
8. Apply Invisible Oil. Carefully follow the product instructions. Invisible Oil must be applied when using Invisible Primer. After 24 hours, we recommend that the primed and oiled surface is treated with Invisible Oil Care to improve the floor’s resistance to stains and wear.
